In this environment, where traditional media outlets are having to defend against lawsuits, where journalists chase after the latest splashy headlines, where do we go to learn about what happened today?

Many of those involved in our group have found that the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, and other “news” outlets are lacking.

While some of these sources do almost seem to be “compromised” in their integrity these days, normalizing the behaviors that once would have been forbidden, we do turn to some sources that can help us filter out the noise and focus on what has been really happening.

A few of our favorite sources of current news and information and analysis, historical perspectives, and information about ongoing ways to engage in the practice of saving democracy are listed here.

Heather Cox Richardson says “I’m a professor of American history. This is a chronicle of today’s political landscape, but because you can’t get a grip on today’s politics without an outline of America’s Constitution, and laws, and the economy, and social customs, this newsletter explores what it means, and what it has meant, to be an American.”  Subscribe to her newsletter, or listen to her program via audio for a daily rundown.
